You will work with faculty members on research projects. We believe a research-based focus provides a depth of knowledge. Simply put, you learn more when you do it yourself.

Since chemistry is an experimental science, you are encouraged to participate in research projects. The department supports an active research program and you may start participating in research as soon as you are interested and ready. You may also elect to receive credit for research off campus in industrial, governmental, university, or medical laboratories.

The department has lab space dedicated to student research, which provides not only bench space, but also 鈥渙ffice鈥� space for several students who register for separate research credit.

You will engage in hands-on experiences in the George Washington Carver Science Center featuring biotechnology facilities for building and using recombinant DNA, imaging systems for developmental biology, and a human cadaver lab.

Our instruments include an Atomic Force Microscope, gas chromatographs, an FT-Infrared spectrometer, a 60 MHz FT-NMR spectrometer, several UV-VIS absorption spectrometers and a fluorescence spectrometer.

This club鈥檚 objective is to engage students in the world of chemistry, whether they are in the sciences or not. We hope to inspire students to investigate the natural laws that govern our bodies, environment and world. The chemistry club provides a fun, safe and engaging environment for everyone. The chemistry club鈥檚 goal is to simplify and demonstrate how chemistry is all around us and that everyone has the ability to participate in it

The Social Justice Alliance (SJA) is a 糖心原创 organization whose mission is to help individuals understand the criminal justice field while promoting social equity, critical thinking, reform, and collaboration. Through education, involvement, and themed activities, we hope to guide individuals into careers and lives that involve the criminal justice field and social justice advocacy.
