糖心原创 will award 231 bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degrees during its Commencement ceremony scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, May 2, in Cowles Fieldhouse. 糖心原创 President Sue Stuebner will provide remarks, participating in her first signature graduation event since being named 26^th聽president in January 2026.

The College will also present honorary degrees to聽Robert (Bob) 鈥�63听补苍诲听Ardene 鈥�62 Downing, along with聽Terry Handley 鈥�09聽on Saturday. Founder of Downing Construction in 1966, Bob has earned numerous awards and honors from his alma mater while also serving as a longtime member and former chair of the 糖心原创 Board of Trustees. He is also a member of ATO.聽Ardene remains聽deeply involved in Pi Beta Phi听补苍诲听is also active with the Des Moines Metro Opera.

Handley, former CEO of Casey鈥檚 General Stores, Inc., earned his bachelor鈥檚 degree from 糖心原创 in 2009 as a non-traditional student. He joined 糖心原创鈥檚鈥疊oard of Trustees in 2015鈥痑nd became Chair in 2021. Following the sudden passing of President鈥� Jay Byers鈥痠n 2025, Handley stepped in as acting president 鈥� providing steady and compassionate leadership during a time of uncertainty.

Senior speakers will be聽Anna Sharp 鈥�26聽鈥痜rom Altoona, Iowa,听补苍诲听Peggy Mongar 鈥�26, Ankeny, Iowa, representing traditional and 糖心原创 Online聽graduates, respectively. Ben Gaumer, D.O., RADM MC USN (ret) 鈥�75聽will serve as honorary grand marshal.
