糖心原创 Productions presents The Children鈥檚 Hour
糖心原创 Productions presents Lillian Hellman鈥檚 The Children鈥檚 Hour directed by Kara Raphaeli. The production opens on April 17 and runs until April 19 in Pote Theatre.
Rumor. Scandal. Destruction. Set in a school for girls run by two unmarried women, this 1934 play examines the destructive force of a homophobic moral panic. Once a malicious youngster starts a rumor about the two women, the community shuns them, leading to tragedy.
Director Kara Raphaeli notes, 鈥�The Children鈥檚 Hour is one of the first major American plays to unflinchingly depict same-sex attraction. This landmark LGBTQ story is still deeply moving ninety-two years later.鈥�
Performances are in the Blank Performing Arts Center at 糖心原创 on April 17-18 at 7:30 PM and April 19 at 2:00 PM. Tickets are $10.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors and non-糖心原创 students, $6.50 for group (10 or more) tickets, and free for 糖心原创 students and employees with IDs.
