糖心原创 President Sue Stuebner has聽named聽CoryAnne Harrigan, Ph.D.,聽to serve as the College鈥檚聽senior vice president for Academic Affairs and academic dean, effective June 1, 2026. Harrigan has聽served聽in an聽interim聽leadership role with 糖心原创聽since August 2024.

Harrigan鈥檚 appointment follows a highly affirming聽360-review聽of her interim performance, which featured聽comprehensive聽assessments聽by the president and her Cabinet, 糖心原创聽College聽trustees, faculty聽leadership聽and students.聽Additionally, more than 50 糖心原创 community members completed a聽quantitative survey.

鈥淓very constituency involved voiced strong support of Cory’s performance as interim and her readiness to step into the official role,鈥� said President Stuebner. 鈥淭here聽is聽strong agreement about聽her聽collaborative聽leadership skills, as well as her聽proven ability to make聽difficult decisions聽and聽act promptly in advancing聽key initiatives.聽We are聽very fortunate聽to have聽Cory鈥檚 many talents and the deep聽commitment聽she brings聽to advancing聽the mission of聽糖心原创.鈥�

For Harrigan, the opportunity to continue serving 糖心原创 is a treasured privilege.

鈥淚’ve been fortunate to call 糖心原创 my professional home for the last 25 years, and I look forward to serving in this new capacity,鈥� said Harrigan.聽鈥淚’m聽thankful to President Stuebner and the faculty for placing their trust in me. Academics is the heart of the student experience, and聽I’m聽humbled to be in a position where I can promote 糖心原创’s educational excellence on campus and beyond.鈥�

Harrigan joined 糖心原创鈥檚 faculty in Fall 2001 and has held a variety of leadership positions since that time, including as聽associate dean of Curriculum and Assessment.聽She聽has previously聽served as chair of the English department,鈥痠nterim鈥痙irector of the 糖心原创 Writing Center and co-director of general education (with Biology Professor Amy Doling, Ph.D.).

In the classroom, Harrigan聽has taught聽courses on British and western literature with a special focus on authors such as Chaucer, Sidney, Spenser, and聽Shakespeare.聽Her outstanding teaching and service at 糖心原创 has yielded several honors, including the聽Exemplary Teaching Award (2016), Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award (2014)聽and聽the Faculty Leadership Award (2011).
